🏃 MyWay London Marathon Places Still Open 🏃

With the new year fast approaching, are you starting to think of what new challenges and resolutions to undertake in 2025?

No matter where you are in the world, you can run, jog or walk the 26.2 miles MyWay for Rett UK! Do it your way - any time from 00:00 to 23:59:59 BST on the same day as the mass event in London 😍 You can do it with friends or on your own, from home or away, in stages or all at once – it’s up to you!

This is a great chance to challenge yourself to complete a marathon without necessarily needing to run...you could walk the route taking in your local scenery, or jog at your own pace 🥾

Last year Helen Ashwell was inspired to take on the 2024 virtual MyWay London Marathon, with her good friend Sue Baines, in honour of Erin 💜

Helen told us: “Rett UK has given Erin a voice. Without Rett UK’s eye gaze loan programme, Erin would never have had this opportunity and we cannot thank Rett UK enough, that’s why we decided to do this fundraiser for the charity. We walked 26.2 miles on Sunday 21st April, which took us over 7 hours! Erin came and joined us for a bit too. I’m really glad I did it, it was a great experience and we raised £880.”

Calling all adults with Rett syndrome! We'd love you to join our final "Peer Group for Adults" of 2024 👥

Join us for an opportunity for adults with Rett syndrome to come together, connect, have fun and communicate!

Following the success of our first in-person Adult Peer Group at the Family Weekend last month, don't miss this final chance to join us online in 2024!
These sessions will be facilitated by our RCCs, with activities and topics steered by the interests of the group!

There is no need for a formal communication system to be in place, any form of communication can be used (e.g. no tech, paper-based, eye gaze device). And there is absolutely no pressure or requirement to speak up - you can just come along and listen.

This is open to anybody over the age of 18 with Rett syndrome. Each person with Rett syndrome needs to be accompanied by a supporter.
