Jack undertook the challenge of running from John O’Groats in Scotland to Lands End in Cornwall, taking 32 days and spanning an impressive 840 miles! And along the journey he managed to raise an incredible £7400 for Rett UK

Jack decided to take on this challenge in honour of his friend's daughter Poppy, who is four years old and was diagnosed with Rett syndrome

How to be an Effective Communication Partner: Online Training Sessions

Join us for our next round of Communication Partner Training sessions

When: Saturday 26th April; 09:00 - 13:00 AND Saturday 10th May; 09:00 - 13:00
Where: On Zoom, link will be sent via email after sign-up (registration link below)

Effective communication isn’t all about how the person with Rett syndrome (or other complex communication needs) communicates. It isn’t all about eye gaze technology either. It’s about how you as a Communication Partner think and act, and the things you can do without any technology!

Over two sessions, two of our CommEd Support Team will take you through ideas and activities for developing your own skills as a Communication Partner. This will include things like modelling and partner-assisted scanning.

A selection of low-tech resources will be posted to you in the week before the first session.

This session is suitable for parents, family and carers of, and those who professionally support people with Rett syndrome of all ages, from toddler to adult, and is a pre-requisite for any family considering joining our device loan programme.

Please note you must attend BOTH sessions of this training. You cannot attend one without the other
